*Fertile*
/ˈfəːtʌɪl/ਫਰ੍ਟਾਇਲ

adjective: fertile

*Meaning*:
When land or soil is  capable of producing abundant crops, such land or soil is said to be fertile. Our land is one most fertile land of the world.

*Punjabi meaning*:ਉਤਪਾਦਕ,ਉਪਜਾਊ


*Use in Sentence*

This  soil is moist and fertile .

*Root Word*:
The root word *Fer* is derived from Latin word confer which means  to bring an honour to someone. In other words Fer means    when something  carries or brings or  bears  something good.

*Related words*:

*Transfer* :( 'trans-' means 'across' and 'fer' means carry.) Therefore  'Transfer' means 'carry across'. When we transfer a thing or a person, it means that thing or person is moved to another place .

2 *Refer* :('re' means 'back' and 'fer' means 'carry'). Refer means to carry something back to someone. When teacher says please refer back to previous chapter, it means she is asking the students to go back to the previous chapter.

3 *Infer*:('in' means 'in' and 'fer' means 'carry'). To infer something is to carry the meaning of something into something by deduction. In other words, infer means when we conclude something based on some information. ( Apne aap kise cheej bare andaja Laga Lena)
4 *Prefer* ('pre' means  'before' and 'fer' means 'carry') To prefer means to 'carry something before anything else'. We prefer  book A over the book B  , it means we like  the  book A over B.

5 *Circumference*:( 'circum' which means 'around' and 'fer' which means 'carry') The circumference is a measurement which is 'carried'.
